This presentation examines the role of ethics in professional tax practice and the importance of IPT’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Professional Conduct. Through practical discussion and real-world scenarios, participants will explore how ethical principles guide decision-making, establish professional boundaries, and maintain trust with clients, taxing authorities, and the public. The session will also review selected IPT Canons and discuss how professionals can respond when faced with ethical uncertainty or workplace pressure. Learning Objectives: At the end of this session, the registrant will be able to: • Discuss the purpose of ethics and how ethical decision-making impacts individuals, the organization, and the profession as a whole • Recognize how IPT’s Code of Ethics can guide ethical judgment and professional responsibility
