Senior Consultant State & Local Credits & Incentives (Flexible/Hybrid/U.S.) - VisionFirst Advisors is a leading site selection and economic development advisory firm helping companies make informed, strategic location decisions. Our work sits at the intersection of site selection, incentives negotiation, and economic development, supporting corporate investments across North America. We are seeking a Senior Consultant to join our Location Strategy team. This role plays a critical part in evaluating, securing, and managing incentives that support client location decisions, expansion, and relocation decisions. The Senior Consultant will support corporate site selection and investment projects by identifying, quantifying, and negotiating state and local incentives tied to job creation, capital investment, and long-term growth.   The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, proficient in excel, and comfortable interacting directly with clients, and collaborating with economic development agencies and government stakeholders. Key Responsibilities: Identify and evaluate state and local credits, incentives, and grants related to: Job creation and retention; Capital investment and real estate development; Workforce training and targeted industry programs. Support site selection and location strategy projects by creating financial and tax liability modeling, and comparing incentive packages across jurisdictions . Prepare financial analyses, incentive valuations, and client-ready deliverables to support location decisions. Assist with incentive negotiations with state and local economic development agencies. Manage incentive application, approval, and compliance processes, including tracking performance requirements. Monitor legislative, regulatory, and program changes affecting incentive availability. Collaborate with VisionFirst site selection, analytics, and advisory teams to deliver integrated solutions. Participate in client meetings and discussions with government and economic development stakeholders. Required Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Business, Public Policy, or a related field. Experience working with state and local incentive programs or economic development agencies. Strong analytical, modeling, and problem-solving skills. Strong researching skills. Comfort with reviewing and synthesizing state/local law, rules, and regulations. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications: 2–5+ years of experience in credits & incentives, site selection, economic development, tax advisory, or consulting. Experience in state and local tax, public accounting, site selection, or economic development consulting. CPA, JD, or Master’s in Accountancy or Taxation (preferred, but not required). Experience supporting multistate or large-scale corporate investment projects. Client-facing consulting experience.
