Distinguished Service Award

This prestigious award honors individuals who have demonstrated extraordinary commitment to the Institute over an extended period. Previous recipients have substantially contributed to our designation programs, educational programs, organizational operations, and other ways that benefited the Institute. If you want to nominate a member for this award, you must submit a written description detailing why you think the individual is deserving of this award.

Special Service Award

This award recognizes significant member contributions to special projects, activities, or achievements of the Institute. It celebrates those who have advanced IPT’s mission in meaningful ways, such as representing IPT on national platforms, playing pivotal roles in critical projects, developing IPT periodicals, enhancing our educational programs, or making other noteworthy impacts on IPT and our members.

Emerging Leader Award

Member of the Year Award

Our newest members are essential to our community's growth and vitality. This award celebrates the active stewardship and service contributions of new members and emerging leaders demonstrating leadership-level commitment.
The Member of the Year Award recognizes an outstanding member in each IPT discipline: Property Tax, Sales Tax, State Income Tax, Credits & Incentives, and Value Added Tax. This award honors an individual who has made exceptional contributions to the Institute and the tax professional community within their discipline through committee leadership, volunteer service, or mentoring and advocacy. Their dedication and commitment efforts have strengthened the organization, its educational programs, and promoted networking among peers.  These individuals have also demonstrated professionalism, high standards, and a collaborative spirit that define IPT membership.

Instructor of the Year Awards

Presented to instructors who have made exceptional contributions to our schools, these awards recognize excellence in state and local income tax, property tax, sales & use tax, and credits & incentives.

There are separate awards for the three tax disciplines: property tax, sales & use tax, state income tax and an instructor award for the credits & incentives school. The recipients will be selected via a nomination process by the school chairs, instructors for each school, and attendee evaluations.

IPT’s Awards Program celebrates the outstanding contributions of our members to the Institute and the tax profession. We encourage IPT Members to nominate deserving individuals for these awards. The Awards Committee carefully reviews nominations and makes recommendations to the IPT Board of Governors for final approval.

Importance of Volunteer Contributions

Much of the Institute's work depends on the contributions of volunteer members. The awards program allows IPT to thank and publicly recognize these outstanding volunteer efforts. Your participation in helping to identify deserving award recipients is greatly appreciated.
