CPE Reports from Events

IPT tracks attendance at our instructor-led training events using barcode scanning. This system allows us to produce detailed reports of attendance provided attendees scan their barcode at each session.  No later than 14 days after an IPT event, the program information is uploaded into the password protected system and a notice is sent advising attendees to download their Certificate of Attendance which indicates their CPE record. The instructions for downloading the records are as follows:

  1. Sign In at www.ipt.org
  2. Click on your name in the top right corner.
  3. Click on the “My Participation” tab.
  4. In the middle of the page, there is an option to request your Certificate of Completion.  Click that link.
  5. Fill out the form, including the check box, and click “Email Certificate of Completion.”
  6. You will receive an email with your certificate as a PDF attachment.

Please Note: Programs held prior to April 2013 are not in this system. To request attendance records for programs prior to 2013, please complete a "Request for Copy of CE Records" form and the report will be resent.

Continuing Education for CPAs

The Institute for Professionals in Taxation® is registered with the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy (NASBA) as a sponsor of "Group Live"  and "Group Internet Based" continuing professional education on the National Registry of CPE Sponsors. State boards of accountancy have final authority on the acceptance of individual courses for CPE credit.

IPT's NASBA sponsor identification number is 103109. All nationally sponsored IPT programs have been registered with this organization since 1991.

In addition, IPT is also registered with the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy as required by the State of Texas.

Continuing Legal Education

IPT files our live national programs in the state where the program is held. For individuals seeking Continuing Legal Education (CLE), many states have reciprocal agreements with other states and/or allow individual attorneys to file.

If you are attending a program outside of your state, please contact your state regulatory agency to see if they will accept the credit. If your state does not have reciprocity and will not accept your application as an individual, please contact Christina Webb in the IPT office no later than 30 days before the respective program to determine if IPT can file as a sponsor.

Other Agencies

IPT maintains compliance with other agencies as requested in the past by the membership. The Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation that registers property tax consultants is one of these agencies. Please contact Christina Webb at cwebb@ipt.org if you need additional information.

Keep Your Records Current

IPT is monitoring state agencies and the requirements for accreditation for our programs. IPT members can assist us in choosing which agencies to target by updating their member profiles. IPT will monitor the agencies and credentialing bodies (Bar Associations, CPAs, etc.) and try to maximize the efficiency of our accreditation efforts for the benefit of the majority of our members.

How do I update my member profile?

Log in to the IPT Website. After logging in, click on your name (Top right side of page). You will now see five tabs, My Account, My Membership, My Participation, People, and Organizations.

Review the information and make changes as needed.

If you do not remember your login/password, please click the reset my password link under the login area, enter your e-mail address that is in your IPT record and the information will be sent to that address.

Although IPT strives to comply with all reporting requirements as specified with the accrediting agency, it is the member's responsibility to ensure that all designations are accurately included in their member profile, as this is where we pull the list to report.
