Join IPT In Texas for the 47th Annual Conference!

IPT's Annual Conference is the year's most robust educational tax program due to its comprehensive content, covering multiple tax sectors, including sales & use, property, and state income tax, as well as credits and incentives.

As a tribute to the Conference's host state, this year's theme is Deep in the Heart of SALT:  Learn & Connect for Success!   The Annual Conference Planning Committee is developing a well-rounded program that includes the best and most current information, educational speakers, and entertaining networking events.  This year's program offers over 60 breakout sessions and seven general sessions featuring an official from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts office, cross-discipline topics, efficient management tactics, IPT Ethics, and an inspirational keynote speaker.  See the Annual Conference Brochure to view an agenda of sessions and descriptions, so you can begin planning your Conference schedule.

The Annual Conference is a place where attendees have the opportunity to catch up with colleagues and meet new ones. Because of the diversity of attendees' tax specialties, the Conference is uniquely positioned to help them expand their professional network across multiple tax disciplines. Networking opportunities are available throughout the Conference, including at meals, between sessions, and evening receptions.

An Annual Conference highlight is always the Tuesday evening reception, which this year features a state fair theme in honor of one of the host state's most anticipated events, the Texas State Fair. Attendees are encouraged to dress in cowboy boots, hats, and other Western attire and enjoy the fair-like atmosphere, including typical carnival fun, games, and treats. This event promises to be a good time for all.

An Invitation From IPT's President

Every year, tax professionals from across the nation look forward to IPT's Annual Conference; it is the year's most anticipated state and local tax conference and well worth your effort if you attend.

The Annual Conference Committee is hard at work developing the agenda to ensure you get the best value from your Conference experience.  They are finding informative and engaging keynote speakers, creating sessions based on the information you have told us you want to know, and preparing networking events to keep you connected.

This year's Annual Conference will be held at the Gaylord Texan Resort & Conference Center in Grapevine (Dallas), Texas.  Those familiar with Gaylord Resorts understand that these facilities offer excellent dining experiences, exciting entertainment activities, and diverse amenities.  There is so much to do at the Gaylord; you will not want to leave!  However, if you opt to venture off the property,  you can enjoy sites such as LEGOLAND®, the Discovery Center, Cowboys Golf Club, Historic Downtown Grapevine, and water sports on Lake Grapevine itself.   If you like baseball, the Texas Rangers will be in town facing off against the Detroit Tigers during the latter part of the Conference.     For these and many other reasons, you should consider attending the 2023 Annual Conference.  I invite you to attend and hope to see you there!

April M. Nevarez, CMI
IPT President
