Credits and Incentives Senior through Senior Manager (Philadelphia and New York) - The key to appropriately managing a company's overall state and local tax cost is to align its tax strategies with its business initiatives and then proceed with assisting the company with implementation. Our network of both US and global professionals help companies identify and obtain incentives that may be available through legislative statutes or through negotiation with appropriate federal, state, and local agencies. We provide services across multiple areas that assist companies in identifying and obtaining business incentives and tax credits such as business incentives advisory, multistate statutory credits and refunds, employer credits and incentives, training incentives, and climate change and sustainability-related credits and incentives. To be considered, ALL levels must have a Bachelor's degree, professional services experience, and professional knowledge of state and local credits and incentives tax processes, concepts and tools. Also desired are Senior candidates with knowledge of financial modelling, real estate underwriting, analyzing market trends, partnership agreements, construction cost reviews & environmental reports; knowledge of Renewable Energy Tax Credits (PTC and ITC), Affordable Housing Tax Credit (LIHTC), Historic Rehabilitation Tax Credit (HRTC), New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC), and/or State tax credits. Senior level candidates must have 2 or more years of related experience in a professional services or tax organization, technical writing and research experience in a tax context, and achieved or partially achieved CPA qualification, certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation or possess the ability to sit for or be a member of a state bar. Manager and Senior Manager level candidates build on these required skills and additionally will have experience managing budgets, people and projects and will possess either a CPA or certification as a member of the Institute for Professionals in Taxation or are a member of a state bar. The tax specialty is for Property Tax and Credits & Incentives.   The Senior Manager - Tax is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations and the tax department while ensuring timely compliance with all fiscal tax laws, statutory notices, and orders to which the company must be in adherence. Additionally, this position provides support to other departments and upper management in response to tax-relevant issues. This role ensures the company remains in good standing with all federal, state, and local authorities. Essential Functions:  Overview the professional development and management of the tax professionals. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Expert knowledge in state and local credits and incentive concepts and tools. Expert knowledge of real property and business personal property tax concepts. Ability to clearly communicate goals and motivate internal and external business partners. Strong management experience with demonstrated leadership in developing effective teams, including hiring and mentoring staff. Expert knowledge of GAAP, US federal, state, local taxation regulations and compliance requirements. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (emphasis on Excel). Excellent oral and written communication skills. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to multi-task and delegate duties in an efficient manner. Strong analytical and quantitative abilities. Required Education, Certifications/ Licenses, Related Experience: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Taxation. 5+ years of relevant experience.
