The Personal Property Tax School is a comprehensive school, which provides an in-depth investigation of personal property taxation. It is designed for property tax personnel who have a basic knowledge of the property tax area. Completion of the Institute's Basic Property Tax School is required. Prerequisites: Individuals must have successfully completed or challenged IPT's Property Tax School. Enrollment is limited to employees of companies that have IPT members.

The IPT Personal Property Tax School builds on your fundamental knowledge of property tax issues using a unique arrangement of informative lectures and participation in small group workshops. Students will be able to expand their current knowledge of personal property tax, classification, valuation, audits, and appeals. The Personal Property Tax School is designed for property tax personnel who have a basic knowledge of the property tax area. 

Successfully completing this school is one of the  mandatory requirement for earning the Property Tax CMI designation, and the school is not eligible to be challenged. For successful completion registrants are expected to attend 90% of the school including the mandatory one-hour ethics session.
