This year, IPT's Annual Conference is in Vancouver, BC on June 24-27, and we want to see you there! The Annual Conference planning committee is putting the finishing touches on the program and using your feedback to create meaningful sessions on topics most important to you.

Here is a look at some of the topics planned for the Conference to date:
* Cross-Border Canadian Sales Taxes
* Sampling: Big Data, Big IDR’s and Big Unkowns...
* Reserves & ASC 450
* Economic Nexus/Quill
* After Wayfair: M&A Considerations in a Post-Physical-Presence Nexus World
* Incorporating Automation and Artificial Intelligence Into Your Indirect Tax Department Strategy
* Deep Dive - Sales Tax Rebate Incentive Program
* False Claims & Consumer Fraud
* Identifying, Pursuing and Maximizing Property Tax Incentives
* Separating Intangible Assets
* Mergers and Acquisitions and Property Tax
* The Cost Approach and All That Jazz
* Property Tax Considerations for Site Selection
* The Not So Simple “Fee Simple”
* A Look at Inventory Property Tax Reporting
* State Implications of the Federal Partnership Rules
* Market-Based Sourcing

This is an especially exciting year for us at the Conference because IPT will debut its second sponsored research project which is about the valuation of freestanding retail properties. Even if you are not involved in property tax on a daily basis, you are likely to find this subject fascinating and it provides a good reason to start planning now to attend.

Majestic mountains, sparkling ocean, rainforests and beautiful foliage throughout all four seasons make Vancouver one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Canadians are known for their friendly nature, and Vancouver's citizens take great pride in their welcoming, clean, safe streets - day or night, all year round.

Don’t forget that if you are traveling to Canada from the US and you are an American citizen, you will need to bring your US passport. It typically takes about eight weeks to renew a passport, so make sure you, and those traveling with you, have up-to-date passports.

The Conference Facility - The Conference will be held at the JW Marriott Parq Vancouver Hotel and the DOUGLAS, a Marriott Autograph Collection hotel. When you make your reservations you will have the opportunity to select rooms in either hotel at IPT's special rate. Both hotels are connected to the Conference's meeting space and offer luxury accomodations right in the heart of Vancouver's entertainment district.
