International Tax Lead (Sandy Springs, Georgia) - WestRock is seeking an International Tax Lead located in Atlanta, GA. This position will have exposure to work in all areas of international corporate taxation, with exposure to both direct (income) and indirect (VAT) taxation.  The position will have responsibilities in areas including but not limited to international compliance, tax planning analysis and research, transfer pricing and other cross border tax reporting requirements, indirect tax exposure such as Canadian transaction tax returns (GST/HST, QST, and PST), and work around tax controversy. This position will provide the opportunity to work for a dynamic global company with ability to develop best practices, grow tax technical skills and work cross functionally with other departments in the organization while supporting the business needs related to global transaction taxes. How you will impact WestRock: Functional lead role in ensuring the completion of the Company’s U.S. international compliance requirements. Manage the company’s global tax compliance process to ensure all tax returns are filed timely. Lead and institute process improvements in transfer pricing, such as country by country reporting (CBCR) and other cross border transactions. Oversee certain aspects of monthly indirect tax reporting and support mitigating risk around ongoing and future audits. Identify, design, and implement process improvement efforts to improve efficiencies. Research and ensure appropriate tax treatment for complex international tax matters. Cross functional development by assisting with tax planning projects, tax controversy defense, and other areas to tax to continue development as a tax professional. Liaison with local country corporate controllers around the world to identify savings opportunities as well as identify risk exposures for the company. Monitor ongoing tax legislation and inform management of the potential impacts to the Company. What you need to succeed: Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance or Taxation preferred. 5- 7 years of experience within a tax department of a large US multinational company tax department, a public accounting firm or environment with exposure to the different aspects of International taxation. Experience with large corporate financial systems such as JD Edwards, Oracle, SAP or Hyperion a plus. Strong skills with Microsoft Office products required. Ability to identify and execute process improvement initiatives. Experienced and comfortable in dealing with personnel at all levels of the organization, and internal and external auditors. Strong analytical, communication and critical thinking skills with an ability to multi-task and ability to look at the big picture. Accurate, precise, logical work required; ability to stay focused and on task in order to research and solve accounting and tax issues. Demonstrated initiative; motivated to exceed expectations. Global Tax Compliance Analyst (New York, New York) - Tax Specialty: Income & VAT. NYU seeks a Global Tax Compliance Analyst to assist the schools and units with important compliance and coordination activities for tax activities outside the New York campus including analyzing third party service provider reports to detail optimal tax withholding strategies and determining the type of registration to be executed to avoid/limit accounting/tax reporting requirements. Liaise with other University offices such as the Office of General Counsel, Office of Global Services, Global Programs Office, University Human Resources, Insurance, Controller's Division, Treasury, and Public Safety to ensure activities outside of the New York campus are conducted in accordance with US, University and local regulations. Liaise with third party providers as necessary to ensure service are rendered as expected and assist with the resolution of complex issues.
