Senior Tax Analyst (Alpharetta, Georgia)
- This position is responsible for identifying, capturing and securing all governmental entitlements.  The selected candidate will ensure all required documents have been completed accurately and timely in order to enable Atrium Hospitality to maximize our complete benefit.   The ideal candidate will work closely with the Director of Tax to ensure completion of day-to-day tax operations in the Corporate Accounting Department. Other responsibilities will include but not limited to tax incentive research, unclaimed property compliance, internal and external tax compliance, lead sales & use tax audits, balance sheet reconciliation and record retention. This position requires the highest level of professionalism, integrity and teamwork from an individual who is positive, responsible and dependable.  Responsibilities: Research, monitor and execute tax incentives that are available to Atrium via capital investments and job growth via government entitlements or local economic development departments/associations.   Assist with the development of energy tax credits and forecasting our ROI. Assist with quantifying best case scenario’s for investment to be presented to company executives. Assist in the preparation, filing and payments of indirect taxes for all managed hotels (Including the real estate valuation, sales & use tax and unclaimed property). Performs all aspects of indirect tax including budgeting, planning, compliance, and preparing accurate work-papers to properly document and support tax position. Ensure compliance of unclaimed property returns have been completed and remitted timely.  Calculate our proper Use Tax liability from capital and has been accrued for capital purchases. Lead Sales and Use Tax Audits. Review and prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and related analyses. Resolve tax notices received from state and local tax jurisdictions. Performs other related duties as required and assigned. Update/Assist with Tax team’s internal tax calendar and verify all tax filings are made timely. Qualifications:  Advance Microsoft Excel experience, verbal communication, and administrative writing skills.  Strong communication skills (written and verbal).  Able to succeed in a fast-paced environment. Able to manage multiple tasks. Critical thinker and problem solver. Works well independently and as part of a team. Eager to learn and is a self-starter.  Requirements: 6-10 years of related experience. Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related discipline required.  Master’s degree preferred.  Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite-Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Skill with Sage 300, ProfitSword, Birch Street, SharePoint, Accounting CS and similar software systems are a plus. Tax Research experience with Checkpoint or similar research tax engines.  Real Estate Tax experience preferred. Hospitality industry experience preferred.
