Compliance Manager, Public Policy & Economic Development (Seattle, Washington) - The Public Policy Compliance team is responsible for compliance, reporting, and monetization for Amazon’s corporate credits and incentives portfolio as well as state lobbying and political contribution compliance. We are currently looking for someone who looks around corners for risks and opportunities, identifies and implements process improvements, and work cross-functionally with other teams. The successful candidate will possess the ability to manage a high volume of projects quickly with little guidance; react with appropriate urgency; take effective action in ambiguous circumstances; and solve problems that affect internal customers. The candidate will have great attention to detail while meeting simultaneous deadlines, have strong organization skills, and the ability to easily reprioritize. A high level of professionalism, integrity, and discretion in handling confidential information is also important. You will: Resolve compliance directly with state and community economic development, workforce and labor, taxation, and other key government agencies. Oversee ongoing compliance matters: forecasting, monetizing, commitment tracking, and program implementation. Develop tools and procedures for collecting Legal, HR, Tax, Real Estate, and Payroll data to prepare consistent compliance filings for government agencies on an ongoing basis. BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 6+ years of multistate economic development, tax, or regulatory compliance experience and subject matter expertise within a corporate organization, law firm, legal department, accounting firm, consultancy or government agency. Demonstrated track record of success in developing successful partnerships with state and local governments, and other public and private stakeholder groups. Experience in managing compliance for large scale projects. Intermediate Excel and CRM/Project Management tool user. Thrive in fast-paced, deadline-driven, high volume environments. Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills. Bachelor’s degree. PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Advanced Excel user. Advanced CRM/Project Management tool user.
