Sr. Tax Accountant (Springdale, Arkansas) - Tyson.  We are looking for someone with experience in identifying and securing statutory and discretionary incentives. We are responsible for assisting all business units across the company to obtain credits and incentives.  Responsibilities:  This position is primarily responsible for supporting company-wide compliance for state/local tax credits and incentives by working closely with internal resources and state/local governments. Other responsibilities include managing incentive audits, incentive tracking and compliance activities, performing tax research, incentive compliance activities, monitoring capital expenditure requests, and various other tax related activities. This position is also responsible for creating and maintaining data files, and reports using various database applications and spreadsheet software for internal accounting use within the Tyson functional areas. This includes maintaining incentive software and reporting and analysis. Other responsibilities include assisting other users who are having problems with tax software applications, creating reports, reconciliation of tax accounts and performing other duties as needed. This position should also be able to research and interpret state tax laws in order to support tax positions. Requirements: Bachelor's Degree with emphasis in accounting. General knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles, tax laws and accounting are required. 4+ plus years of experience in tax or other relevant areas. Public accounting experience as well as CPA certification is a plus. Standard computer skills. Candidate must have ability to work with Vertex software, SAP, Excel, Access, IDEA software, Word, and Outlook. Must have ability to perform technical research using CCH, BNA, RIA, or other tax research tools. Good written and verbal communication skills. Tax Senior Associate (SALT) - We are looking for a driven and experienced state and local tax practitioner to join our growing state and local tax practice. As a senior in our state and local tax practice, you will actively participate on client engagements, perform state and local tax compliance and/or consulting services, and team with other tax team members in providing value-added state and local tax solutions to our clients. Responsibilities: Demonstrate an understanding of multi-state income/franchise taxes, sales/use taxes, property taxes, credits/incentives, and employment taxes and apply that tax knowledge to client facts/situations. Prepare and/or review multi-state and local income/franchise tax returns, sales/use tax returns, property tax returns, and employment tax returns Research state and local tax issues. Draft state and local tax technical memoranda or matrices. Assist with multi-state and local tax controversy engagements. Work on outsourcing state and local tax engagements at client sites. Assist with multi-state tax due diligence on merger and acquisition and restructuring projects. Key Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Accounting; Master's in Taxation or JD/LLM is a plus. Minimum 2 years of experience in state and local taxation. Previous experience in a public accounting firm. CPA candidate or licensed CPA. Proven competence in CCH, RIA Checkpoint, Vertex, GoSystems Tax RS, and PTMS. Proficient research, analytical and verbal/written communication skills. Ability to travel to client locations and other firm offices in California.
