Indirect Tax Manager (Sandy Springs, Georgia) - Americold Logistics LLC. Management of the US and foreign indirect tax compliance. Essential Functions: 1. Manage the indirect tax function, including property tax, sales and use tax, and some GST/VAT 2. Responsible for working with outside consultants to timely file property tax returns, determine when to appeal assessments, and to respond to audit requests. Provide outside consultants with documentation/documents necessary to evaluate assessments. 3. Maintain tax basis fixed asset system within SAP, and provide necessary information to outside consultants for preparation of property tax returns. Including making sure new depreciable assets are properly coded to correct taxable entity, and transferred assets are tracked accordingly. 4. Prepare annual budget for property tax and support GL team on maintaining proper accruals throughout the year. 5. Assist in preparing estimated property taxes for potential new investments. 6. Prepare, review and reconcile sales and use tax accruals. 7. Gather necessary sales and use tax information on a monthly basis to provide to outside consultants for return preparation. 8. Maintain Vertex software system for sales and use tax. 9. Responsible for coordinating Company responses to audit requests and manage audit process. 10. Manage communication and correspondence with external consultants. 11. Provide Corporate level support for international issues (VAT, transfer price, etc.) 12. Perform tax research, including interpretation and application of corporate tax law and policy 13. Provide tax planning and strategy for new deals and agreements, including aiding with the creation of new entities, proposed transactions and researching tax saving strategies in income, sales and use and property taxes 14. Ensure files and documentation are properly recorded for compliance under SOX 404 regulations 15. Prepare tax account analysis and reconciliations and maintain tax records 16. Assist VP Tax and other tax department personnel with REIT and/or other income tax related issues and projects 17. Other duties, as assigned. Education, Training & Professional Experience: • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required; CPA or Masters in Tax, or other industry certification. • A minimum of 5 years of progressive tax experience, preferably within a recognized public accounting firm and/or relevant experience in the private sector • Technical experience: Property Tax, Sales and Use tax and Foreign GST/VAT taxes • Previous tax planning and strategy experience • Ability to perform well under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in a high-volume and changing environment • Demonstration of ownership and ability to multi-task in order to balance responsibilities with assigned projects, while ensuring that all deadlines are met • Experience in SAP, Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and accounting software systems including Vertex; 25% Travel. Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree (B.S.) or Masters (M.S.) in Accounting.
