Meeting the Challenges of the Income Tax Profession...
The Institute (IPT) provides excellent income tax educational programs and other services to its members. Income tax members may connect with their peers and colleagues through informative educational programs, a certification program, discussion group forums, local luncheon groups, and online member searches.
The Institute offers the CMI professional designation in three tax specialties for those who represent the business sector. The CMI designation is a widely recognized mark of distinction among colleagues, employees, assessors, and other taxing authorities. Income tax members have the opportunity to receive this designation in state and local income tax.

IPT offers two schools in state income taxation:
» Basic State Income Tax School
» Advanced State Income Tax School
In addition, state tax professionals have the opportunity to attend:
» Annual Income Tax Symposium
» Annual Conference
» Annual ABA/IPT Advanced Income Tax Seminar
State specific One-Day programs are also offered. Check IPT’s Calendar of Events for specific dates and locations.
An Income Tax Issues forum has been established to assist members in communicating with their colleagues on issues of mutual concern. Committees are the vehicle through which programs are developed and executed, and other member services are delivered.
Whatever your income tax focus, you will find other members who share the same challenges and who are most willing to share their experiences and knowledge about issues facing the industry today.
