More information can be found at We seek an experienced value-added tax (VAT) specialist to join our growing team.  Reporting to the Tax Manager, the select candidate will be responsible for the research, compliance and accounting surrounding international VAT and fuel excise taxes applicable on a global basis. Responsibilities include: Properly apply and report transaction taxes including fuel excise, sales and value-added taxes in accordance with federal, state, local, and international laws. Research and interpretation of international tax law to determine country registration requirements, rates, exemptions and required documentation to support tax positions. Support systems that will apply transactional taxes to sales and purchases. Maintenance of a database of rates and certificates. Assistance with the successful coordination and closing of audits. Interact with foreign tax authorities, vendors, customers and Big-4 tax professionals to obtain both technical information and on-the-ground intelligence on how VAT rules are applied. Make determinations regarding customers’ tax status. Coordinate and assist in the preparation of VAT, GST and other foreign excise tax returns. Assist with the conversion of current tax reporting systems to a new platform. Monitor tax law changes and effects on current processes. Qualifications include: Bachelor degree in Accounting, International Business or other related field.  Master degree in Taxation or commensurate experience level preferred.  A minimum of 5-7 years of experience with transaction tax (rather than income tax) and international exposure with confirmed expertise in all or some regions of EMEA. Proficiency with one or more accounting systems, including the ability to assimilate new software applications easily Advanced-level Microsoft Excel skills and proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
